KIWI: NZD/USD trades flat at $0.6900, with liquidity set to be drained on
Wednesday as NZ observes a national holiday.
- Rate closed unch. Tuesday, after the kiwi tracked gyrations in the AUD during
Tuesday's Asia-Pacific session, before USD strength came to the fore in NY
hours.
- Tuesday's high of $0.6906 provides the initial layer of resistance and a break
above would open up the upper 1.0% 10-DMA envelope at $0.6935. Conversely,
downside attention is drawn to $0.6871, which limited losses Tuesday. A fall
below would allow bears to attempt a run at $0.6822, which represents the
21-DMA.
- Participants remain focused on NZ labour mkt data due tomorrow.
