OFZs Eke Out Tentative Gains as Markets Eye Lavrov-Blinken Talks

  • This follows a broadly mixed session on Friday as geopolitical uncertainty continues to keep risk flows into Russian assets tentative.
  • W/w the OFZ curve snapped a multi-week weakening stint, with the curve shifting lower and bull flattening.
  • 20-30Y yields outperformed, falling -21-25bp as pathways for de-escalation emerged, but whether both sides can meet in the middle still remains to be seen.
  • Credit default swaps closed the week marginally higher (+13bp) after failing -31bp from the peak on Tuesday.
