OFZs Gain Ground as Weekly CPI Slows in November

SOUTH AFRICA
  • Local & USD bonds open slightly firmer this morning, in line with more positive EM FI sentiment.
  • Front end yields closed lower on Friday's session to cap off a broadly firmer week for OFZs as weekly CPI gave tentative signals of a potential moderation in price pressures into year end.
  • 10y yields were most bid w/w at -18bp, followed by 2Y at -16bp.
  • A Consolidated move below 8.00 in the 10Y OFZ opens up 7.60 support to the downside – but near-term directionality will be largely influenced by weekly CPI on Wednesday.
  • OFZ Curve w/w
