China's crude oil imports were down on the month from 49.1m tons in August to 45.488m tons in September and down 0.6% y/y, according to General Administration of Customs data.

  • Imports for the period from January to September totalled 412.388m metric tons, down 2.8% from the corresponding period in 2023.
  • September oil product exports rose on the month from 4.921m tons to 5.192m tons in September but Jan-Sept exports were down 5.7% y/y to 45.199m tons.
  • Oil product imports were 4.48m tons in September and up 6.3% y/y at 36.984m tons.
