OMV Taking Measures to Supply Fuels to Domestic Market

Austria’s OMV is taking measures to make up for product shortfalls from it Schwechat refinery after an incident damaged a crude distillation unit June 3 according to a company statement.

  • OMV is making use of the rest of the groups refining network to temporarily supply Schwechat with feedstock and the Austrian market with larger product volumes.
  • The capacities of smaller available crude oil distillation units are being maximised as well as sourcing product from partners to fill any shortfalls.
  • The strategic fuel reserve in Austria is also being used to bridge the gap.
  • OMV said it was not yet clear how long repairs at Schwechat would take.
