OPEC+ Production Increased by 140kbpd in Dec: Platts survey

OPEC+ crude oil production increase by 140k b/d to 42.71mb/d in December according to the latest Platts survey.

  • Russia largely maintained around the November levels at 9.86mb/d despite to EU ban and the G7 price cap.
  • OPEC 13 output was up 110kb/d at 28.98mb/d in December led by the highest output from Nigeria since April. Non-OPEC supply including Russia rose by 30kbpd to 13.73mb/d.
  • Russian crude exports were cut due to the sanctions but output was maintain by higher refinery runs and filling storage.
  • Russian-origin crude loadings from Russian ports tumbled 14% or 431k b/d from November to December according to S&P Global.
  • OPEC output still lags production targets by 1.80mb/d in December due to technical difficulties or lack of investment.
