Opposition Leader Navalny Taken Out Of Induced Coma

Reports emerging that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been taken out of an induced coma by doctors at the clinic he is being treated in in Germany.

  • Doctors at the clinic say that Navalny was likely poisoned using the nerve agent 'novichok', previously identified as the same agent used on former Russian intelligence officer Sergei Skripal in the English city of Salisbury in 2018.
  • Reports stating that Navalny is responsive following his coma.
  • The incident has caused significant political blowback in Germany, with a number of voices calling for sanctions against Russia for the alleged attack, as well as a review of the Nord Stream II gas pipeline set to link Russia and Germany.
