RENEWABLES: Orlen-Northland JV Advances 1.2GW Baltic Power Wind Project

 The JV between Orlen and Northland Power has advanced their 1.2GW Baltic Power offshore wind farm in Poland by completing two power stations for the project, with the firms eyeing 2026 for commissioning, Grupa Przemyslowa Baltic (GPB) said.

  • The stations transform and transmit electricity from the wind turbines to land.
  • The project will have 76 wind turbines – each 15MW – and will be in the Baltic Sea.
  • It is expected to cover 3% of Poland’s energy demand and cut CO2 emissions by 2.8mn t/yr
