Palm Oil Lends Helping Hand?

MYR

The ringgit still narrowly outperforms all of its Asian EM peers, despite trimming some of its early gains. Some of its initial strength may have been linked to a strong showing from palm oil futures yesterday. Analysts have seen the upswing as tied to expected pick-up in demand ahead of major festivals in the Asia-Pac region.

  • Spot USD/MYR last -30 at MYR4.1125, familiar technical picture remains in play.
