Panama To Temporarily Close Reopened Border With Colombia

  • Panama says will temporarily close border with Colombia over COVID-19 risk (BBG)
  • This comes following the news yesterday that Colombia would open all land, sea and river borders with Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil – effective immediately, according to a foreign ministry statement.
    • The Colombian decision was taken to help in the economic recovery of countries' borders.
    • Colombia is "analyzing" opening the border with Venezuela starting June 1, the ministry added via Twitter.
