POLAND
  • Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski confirmed that this Wednesday parliament will start debating court legislation agreed with the European Commission as a condition for unblocking Poland's access to EU recovery funds. Ruling Law and Justice party lawmaker Marek Ast signalled imminent talks with the opposition and junior coalition party Solidarna Polska but said the bill is unlikely to be put to the vote at this sitting of parliament.

  • President Andrzej Duda's chief defence aide told the press that the head of state has invited the Prime Minister and key ministers for an urgent meeting related to current security situation and the war in Ukraine. The Wall Street Journal reported last Friday that Poland was considering donating its Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv amid new shipments of weapons from the West.
