  • Pemex plans to start a two-well program seeking hydrocarbons at distinct shallow-water plays in the Gulf of Mexico this month.
  • Mexican hydrocarbons regulator CNH approved plans submitted by Pemex to spud the Koos-1EXP prospect in the Sureste basin and the Cuxi-1EXP wildcat in the Tampico-Misantla basin.
  • Drilling of Koos-1EXP is expected to last nearly six months, as Pemex will eye 42 degrees API crude in Upper Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic plays at final depths of 7290 metres.
  • Pemex will target unrisked resources of up to 19.1 mbbl of oil equivalent, with the chance of success rated at 19%.
