EGBS: Peripheral markets are rallying again as month end buying develops. The
Bund-BTP spread has fallen to the lows of the day at 137.7bp and sitting right
on top of the lowest spread in a year. Semi core is also outperforming Germany
in the recent small rally in the market as the dollar sinks vs other currency
pairs.
- Dollar weakness is assisting and the dollar is also subject to its own
month-end shenanigans that would depress the greenback.
- Senator Collins has also stated she is not committed to a yes vote on the tax
bill, which would soften risky assets and the dollar.
