Petro Will Seek Four New Members On Ecopetrol Board

  • According to local media, President Petro will seek to include four new members on Ecopetrol’s board, including former congresswoman Ángela María Robledo, Vice Environment Minister Lilia Tatiana Roa, Vice Minister of Labour Edwin Palma and former Senator Guillermo García. The government will also look to keep existing members Mónica de Greiff, Gonzalo Hernández and Esteban Piedrahita on the board. The general assembly will be held on March 22 when a decision will be made regarding the members.
  • Later today, Finance Minister Bonilla will participate in an event at the Colombian Academy of Economic Sciences (2300GMT/1800ET).
  • Separately, a survey by Davivienda Corredores revealed that investors expect the monetary policy rate to reach 9.5% in August (from 12.75% currently), a similar level to that seen in the previous survey in January. 52% of investors also see a risk of non-compliance with the fiscal rule this year.
