PGNiG Book 6TWh Capacity At Klaipeda LNG for 10 Years

Polish gas company PGNiG has booked 6TWh (0.5bcm/year) of LNG regasification capacity at Lithuania’s Klaipeda LNG terminal according to a statement from PGNiG.

  • The contract is in place for 10 years from 1 Jan 2023 to 31 Dec 2032.
  • The GIPL (Gas Interconnector Poland Lithuania) gas interconnector between Poland and Lithuania, launched in May 2022 has enabled PGNiG to make use of LNG supplies from the Lithuanian terminal. Their first cargo delivered to the terminal was on May 6.
  • The pipeline capacity from Lithuania to Poland is 1.9bcm/year and from Poland to Lithuania is 2 bcm/year.
