PHILIPPINES: Impeachment Complaint Against VP Duterte Filed In Congress

Bloomberg cites a confirmation from the Akbayan party that an impeachment complaint has been filed against Vice President Sara Duterte at the House of Representatives today, accusing her of "culpable violations of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust and other high crimes."

  • According to Bloomberg, "the complainants include a group of civil society leaders and former government officials, with the case endorsed by Congressman Perci Cendana."
