PiS Sees Fractional Increase in Support, Opposition Readies No-Confidence Vote in Ministers

  • United Surveys shows PiS recorded only a fractional increase in voter support after unveiling its Polish Deal economic platform to 33.7% vs 33.5% two weeks prior.
    • Polska 2050 came in second with 22.7% support, up from 21.9%, while opposition coalition KO advanced to 13% from 12.1%.
    • Left-wing Lewica fell to 8% from 9.6%, while nationalist Konfederacja edged down to 8.2% from 8.6%.
    • Such results would give PiS 201 seats in the lower house, with 129 seats for Polska 2050, 65 for KO, 32 for Lewica and 33 for Konfederacja
  • Opposition to unanimously back a no confidence motion against head of PM chancellery Dworczyk, State Assets Minister Sasin and Interior Minister Kaminski to capitalize on recent charges RE organizing the mail-in presidential ballot in May 2020.
    • Opposition will, however, abstain from a no confidence vote against the PM, as it has failed to agree on its own candidate for the position – Gazeta Wyborcza
