PM & President Agree On Need To Reform Pension System, Unemployment Rate Ticks Lower

  • Prime Minister Petr Fiala and President Petr Fiala met to discuss the outcome of the Slovak presidential election, the government's plan, the war in Ukraine, and the proposed pension reforms. The two officials shared the assessment that reforming the pension system is a "necessary and essential step that will endure a decent pension even for people [currently] under 40."
  • Czechia's unemployment rate among people aged 15-65 edged lower to 3.9% in March from 4.0% in February, in line with expectations.
  • The CNB will release the levels of international reserves as of end-March at 09:00BST/10:00CEST.
