MNI PODCAST: FedSpeak - Wright Sees Steady Inflation Decline
(MNI) WASHINGTON
Fed to hike a few more times before pause and then hold until at least year end, St. Louis Fed economist says.
- U.S. inflation have turned decidedly lower and are likely to continue their downward path over the course of this year, St. Louis Fed economist Mark Wright said.
- Wright says the Fed will pause after "a few" more rate hikes and then assess the situation; rate cuts not on the cards this year.
- Wright is hopeful that the recent strength in jobs means the Fed can bring down inflation without a major hit to economic growth.
