PoderData Poll Shows Lula Has 47% of Votes, Bolsonaro 38% in Runoff

  • President Jair Bolsonaro further narrowed Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s lead in a potential election runoff later this year to nine percentage points, a PoderData poll carried out on April 10-12 showed.
  • This marks the first time that Lula receives less than 50% of voting intentions. Just two weeks ago, Lula had 50% of votes against Bolsonaro’s 38% and in early Feb. the score was 54%-37%.
  • Lula’s five percentage points advantage to Bolsonaro is the smallest ever recorded by PoderData this year, in a clear sign that former judge Sergio Moro’s dropout from the race is benefiting the incumbent President.
