Polling Data Provides Temporary Reprieve For Local Assets

  • USDCLP fell as conservative presidential candidate Kast's support jumped in the most recent polls ahead of the November election. Camara swap rates also fell in line with Peso strength. The weaker dollar overnight may extend the move, however, firm short-term support for the currency pair lies at 806.63, the Oct 14 low.

  • Jose Antonio Kast, struck a different tone, saying on his Twitter that there's nothing to celebrate. "Two years after the criminal uprising, we dare to say 'enough' to violence that infuses terror, and to say that we want to live in peace."
