POWER: 650MW Finnish-Estonian Link to Return on Wednesday

The 650MW EstLink 2 interconnector between Finland-Estonia has returned to the grid, with full commercial use starting from Wednesday, TSO Fingrid said.

  • However, Fingrid will still have to limit the electricity export capacity to Estonia for the next few days due to the construction work of a substation in southern Finland, it added.
  • Tests will occur on the interconnector over Mon-Tue.
  • The outage began in late January and was due to a fault on the Estonian side.
