 The EIB and Enel’s E-Distribuzione have signed a €250mn sustainability-linked loan aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while also enhancing Italy's power grid resilience and digitalisation, the EIB said.

  • Enel is committing to a key target of cutting its carbon intensity to below 125 gCO2eq/kWh by 2026, with a further reduction to 72 gCO2eq/kWh by 2030.
  • This is the first tranche of a €500mn sustainability-linked loan.
