POWER: Ellevio Eyes 80MW BESS Park in Sweden For 2025

Ellevio Energy will build two battery parks – a combined capacity of 80MW – in Sweden, with commissioning expected in the autumn of 2025, it said.

  • The projects will each be 40MW and will be able to store a total of 80MWh.
  • At the beginning of 2024 around 80MW of BESS capacity was in Sweden's support service market, with capacity climbing to 350MW in July, the firm added.
  • “Everything points to another hundreds of MW of battery storage capacity being up and running before the end of the year,” Ellevio said.
