POWER: France Allocates One Third of Renewables Tender Target For 2026

POWER

France allocated around 10GW in the 2021-23 period of renewable plants via the tender scheme, that aims to allocate 28GW of renewable projects by the end of 2026, CRE said.

  • Around 40% of the allocated projects were onshore wind plants and 60% were solar PV plants.
  • Prices for winning projects in the 2021-23 period showed an increase of +35% for onshore wind projects (€87.2/MWh at the end of 2023), +39% for ground-mounted solar PV projects (€81.9/MWh) and +23% for building-mounted photovoltaic projects (€102.1/MWh).
  • The increase in prices is due to unfavourable economic conditions, CRE said.
  • Price for installations stabilised in 2023, while the cost of raw materials and transport declined.
