  • Reservoir levels declined by 0.10TWh last week, compared with a weekly decline of 0.09TWh the week prior.
  • Stocks widened their deficit to the 5-year average to 0.13TWh, down from 0.07TWh the week prior.
  • And reservoir levels were 0.30TWh below 2023 levels, compared with 0.11TWh the week before.
  • Power demand in Italy averaged 35.44GW last week, up from 30.81GW the week before.
  • Demand surged as high as 49.5GW last week – the highest since 2 Aug – due to high cooling demand, Terna data showed.
  • Run of river generation last week declined by 331MW to 3.79MW. Output from pumped storage edged higher by 68MW to 569MW, while output from reservoirs was broadly stable at 635MW.
  • Italian gas-fired generation last week rebounded by 4.07GW to 14.77GW.
  • Solar PV output last week edged lower by 123MW to 4.35GW. Wind output increased by 397MW to 1.56GW.
