POWER: Italian Terna to Support Grid Stability Over 1 Oct- 31 Dec

POWER

Italy's TSO Terna has allocated around 90% of the 575 MW interruptible electricity contracts, effective from 1 October to 31 December, to support grid stability, if necessary, it said, cited by Montel.

  • Interruptible contracts enable the immediate disconnection of large industrial energy consumers to protect the power system during critical situations.
  • 492MW of the 500MW on offer to 40 companies in mainland Italy for an annual remuneration of €105,000 MW/yr.
  • In Sardinia 15MW of the 50 MW on offer without a duration limit at €126,000 MW/yr to three companies.
  • And 9MW of 25MW in Sicily was offered at €126,000 MW/yr also to three firms.
