Lithuania plans to expand mandatory energy audits and require energy management systems for high-energy consumers as part of new legislation aligned with EU energy efficiency directives, the Ministry of Energy said.

  • The draft law aims to limit final energy consumption to a maximum of 51TWh by 2030 and achieve an average annual savings of 1.49% in final energy usage.
  • In 2022, Lithuania consumed 73.4TWh of primary energy and 62.7TWh of final energy. The building and transport sectors each accounted for approximately 40%, while the industrial sector contributed around 20%.
