POWER: Nordics Could Save 84 TWh/yr by 2030 with Energy-Efficient Products

Nordic Energy Research reveals that the Nordic region could achieve massive electricity savings by 2030 through more energy-efficient products, with Sweden alone projected to save around 25.9 TWh/yr it said.
- Finland is estimated that it could save 24 TWh/yr by 2030, with Norway at 17 TWh/yr and Denmark at 16.3 TWh/yr. Savings in Iceland are projected at 1 TWh/yr.
- Savings stem from more energy-efficient designs and consumer choice of products with good energy labels.
- The updated EU ecodesign regulation, covering both energy and non-energy products, also targets reduced consumption. Norway plans to adopt it under the supervision of the Norwegian Environment Agency and NVE.
