Sweden's grid agency is exploring temporary capacity measures to speed up new connections and avoid delays in grid expansion, with the agency calling on market actors to aid in the development, TSO Svenska Kraftnat said. 

  • Some actors have shown interest in investing in their production resources, like gas turbines, to help redirect power flows and enable faster grid connections, according to the TSO.
  • “The procurement is intended to be open to all new flexible resources that may be in place in the area within 2-4 years. The contracts are supposed to apply until planned network measures are completed,” Svenska Added.
