POWER: Tauron Reports New Wave of Damages Due to Flooding

Polish Tuaron has reported a new wave of network damages as the storm moved west on Thursday – causing additional flooding damage – with works still ongoing to restore areas that have been impacted, it said.

  • On 15 Sept, over 100,000 of its consumers were left without power – with the majority being restored – however, the new wave of flooding has led to further works.
  • Additional generators have been sent to some areas, with pumps used to dry stations and equipment.
  • Power engineers are still unable to reach certain places due to damage to roads and bridges.
  • Stations in key areas are still underwater, Tauron added.
