Premier, Cabinet Hand in Resignation, Alongside Expectations

  • Reuters reports that the Taiwanese Premier Su Tseng-Chang has submitted his resignation, alongside the entire cabinet. This is largely inline with expectations.
  • Last week Su Tseng-chang was reported to have had discussions with the President Tsai about a cabinet reshuffle, but no plans had been finalized.
  • Local media speculated that former Vice President Chen Chien-jen could be asked to form a cabinet and replace Su Tseng-Chang as premier.
