President Biden's Approval Rating Falls On Economic Concerns

US

US President Joe Biden has seen his approval rating drop as his administration grapples to contain the fallout from a crisis in the mid-size banking sector and persistent inflation.

  • According to RealClearPolitics, Biden's approval currently sits at 43.3% - a number which may sink further as the fallout from the collapse of SVB continues.
  • AP reports that economic concerns continue to weigh on Biden's approval: "The president and other administration officials have toured the country to promote their achievements. But to many, the economy feels as though it could be on a knife’s edge after the recent bank failures, as well as the debt limit showdown with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy [R-CA], that could put the U.S. government at risk of defaulting."
  • A recent Quinnipiac poll found that only 36% percent of voters approve of Biden's handling of the economy and the president struggles on other conservative talking points like immigration and border security despite a recent attempt to move to the center-ground.
