President Biden's Net Approval Rating Nears Record Low

According to the latest data from the Real Clear Politics' presidential approval tracker, President Joe Biden's approval rating is now touching a near record low of -14.4%.

  • The tracker shows that Biden's approval hit net -14.6 on February 9 during the tail end of the Omicron COVID-19 surge.
  • Since then, Biden's approval strengthened on the back of a positive performance on Ukraine however ballooning inflation and energy prices have weighed heavily since.
  • For context, the Morning Consult global leader trackers shows Biden polling relatively strongly compared to other Western leaders presiding over high inflation. UK PM Boris Johnson, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and French President Emmanuel Macron are all suffering from lower approval ratings.
