Myroslava Petsa at BBC tweets: "At a last-minute press marathon, Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky suggests oligarch Rinat Akhmetov is linked to a possible scenario of coup d'état okayed by Russia. No secret, Akhmetov has been fighting an info war against Zelensky recently. Now story is taking a sharp turn.

  • Wires and social media reporting that Zelensky has claimed that he has evidence of Russian involvement in the alleged plan to take control of Ukraine at the beginning of December. Zelensky: "We have audio information... It's about a billion dollars. He is involved in the war against Ukraine"
  • Zelensky: "I will not be running from the country".
  • Should be noted that at present there is no evidence of a coup attempt being orchestrated, and that Zelensky and Akhmetov have a bitter history. Nevertheless, the president claiming such an operation being underway shows how concerned Kyiv is about the potential for Russian action - overt or covert - towards Ukraine.
