President Fernandez Seeks to Unify Exchange Rates

  • Argentina’s government is working to unify the foreign exchange market during President Alberto Fernandez’s last year in office, Fernandez said in an interview with Perfil.
    • “We should have a unique exchange market,” Fernandez said, without giving further details about the plans. “All our effort goes in that direction.”
  • Separately, the Government will invite gas transportation and distribution companies to define a rate increase as from February, according to El Cronista Comercial. The hearing will be held on January 4 and the resolution will be published in the next days, the newspaper said.
  • On Thursday, Argentina will publish both November CPI and third quarter GDP data.
