Press TV: Iran Ready For Talks w/European JCPoA Signatories

Iran's state-run Press TV carrying an article stating that the Iranian regime is ready for talks to begin with the three European signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA, the Iran nuclear deal): France, Germany, and the UK - collectively the E3.

  • The article seems to be in protest to tweets from the WSJ's Laurence Norman, who claimed that Iran's chief negotiator Ali Baqeri Kani would not talk to representatives from the three countries in Brussels.
  • The article claims that Baqeri Kani will talk to E3 representatives either in their own capitals or in Tehran.
  • Remains to be seen whether the Vienna talks, involving all JCPoA signatories, and intended to get Iran back into compliance with the deal and the US in a position to rejoin, can be restarted after halting in the summer following the election of hardliner President Ebrahim Raisi.
