Producer Prices Fall 0.8% M/M in Nov, Unemployment Rate Highest Since April 2021

  • Hungary's producer prices fell 0.8% m/m in November versus -0.6% in October, according to the Central Statistical Office. Producer prices fell 6.6% y/y versus -6.6% in October. Domestic prices declined by 1.9%, and export prices by 8.9%. The statistics office noted the impact of the strengthening of the forint against the euro on the producer price index.
  • Meanwhile, Hungary’s unemployment rate rose slightly to 4.2% in November from 4.1% in October. That marks the highest reading since April 2021.
  • The year ahead will be the year of boosting Hungary's economic growth, finance minister Varga said on Thursday, adding that the state budget remained stable. The minister told a press conference that the government's main goal was to keep reducing the deficit and the public debt, according to MTI.
