Producer Prices Record Largest Ever Annual Drop in October

  • Hungary's producer prices fell 0.6% m/m in October versus +1.7% in September, according to the Central Statistical Office. The year-on-year figure fell 6.6% versus -2.5% in September – the largest annual drop on record.
  • There is little else in the way of notable domestic news flow while EURHUF has traded within a narrow range so far today.
  • Cabinet Minister Gergely Gulyas will hold his weekly press conference at 1030GMT/1230CET as lawmakers debate a controversial “sovereignty” law. There are no more data releases on the local slate today with final Q3 GDP data the highlight tomorrow morning (Est: -0.4% y/y).
