Putin-No Additional Mobilisation 'For Now'

RUSSIA

Russian President Vladimir Putin in televised meeting (previous bullets here and here) claims that 'Conscript soldiers will not be sent to the zone of the special military operation'. On the need for more troops: 'Additional mobilisation depends on what we want, do we need to return back to Kyiv?' Says that 'Additional mobilisation is not required for now'.

  • Claiming that 'we have recruited more than 150k contract fighters, 156k including volunteers'.
  • Putin says that according to the Defence Ministry there is no need for mobilisation, and that 'People are standing up by their own will to defend the fatherland.'
  • Putin: 'West is pumping Ukraine with weapons. They are in breach of some international acts.'
  • Says that 'We lack high-precision ammo and drones.' Putin: 'Russia has increased production of key weapons by 2.7x for the past year...military factories are working day and night...The quality of Russian weapons is improving.'
