Putin-US Being Drawn More Into Ukraine War

Russian President Vladimir Putin speaking to reporters on the war in Ukraine. Tass reports Putin's claims that "Some changes to [the] western position on Ukraine and statements about the need to solve [the] conflict via talks are right." Adds that "If Ukraine wants a negotiation process, theatrical gestures are not needed, the decree prohibiting negotiattions should be cancelled."

  • Speculates "If the US says Russia lost [the] war against Ukraine, whey [do] they supply ATACMS missiles?" On the US' involvement claims that "The United States is becoming more and more personally drawn into this conflict. They are being drawn in, this is an obvious thing. And let no one say that they have nothing to do with this. We believe that they do,”
  • Following his controversial meeting w/ Hungarian PM Viktor Orban, states that it is "nonsense" to call Orban pro-Russian, he is "pro-Hungarian."
  • Claims that the Ukrainian summer counteroffensive led to "losses, but [...] no result." Putin: “They launched the long-announced, expected next counter-offensive, now in the Kherson direction. There is no result yet.”
