Q3 GDP In Line With Estimates, Castillo Wants Pacific Alliance Meeting

  • Gross domestic product in Peru rose as much as economists expected in the third quarter.
    • GDP rose 1.7% y/y (estimate +1.7%) in 3Q versus +3.3% in 2Q, according to the National Statistics and Information Institute.
  • Additionally, President Castillo, after not being allowed to travel to Mexico for aa Pacific Alliance meeting, has said he would like to hold the meeting in his country after Mexico’s President AMLO suggested the option, media outlet El Comercio reported.
    • All countries that are part of this alliance are welcome, Castillo said according to El Comercio.
