Ramaphosa Says Parts Of Russiagate Report Must Stay Secret

  • President Cyril Ramaphosa told lawmakers to come to terms with the fact that parts of the report on the Lady R scandal will be kept secret to avoid compromising the work or safety of South African security forces. He added that he had full confidence in the findings of a probe into the matter conducted by an independent panel composed of three legal experts.

  • South Africa's manufacturing production grew 1.6% Y/Y in August, exceeding the +2.3% consensus forecast, data released yesterday showed. Mining output fell 2.5% against expectations of a 2.0% contraction.
