Ramaphosa to Release State Capture Report as He Receives It

SOUTH AFRICA

Rampahosa on state capture report:

  • I have decided to release to the public each part of the Commission’s report immediately after it is submitted to me.
  • The first part of the Commission Report will therefore be available on the Presidency website within the next few hours.- Ramaphosa's Twitter
  • The next section or the report is due at the end of the month and the final assessment will be handed down by Rampahosa in June
  • This is a show of confidence from Ramaphosa on dealing with corruption - effectively involving the outraged public in the decision on years of endemic corruption* The commission has been working for three years and has come under fire for being ineffective, expensive and slow to act.
  • Ramaphosa could use this opportunity to set his detractors back if he follows through with firm action against perpetrators and re-ignites his anti-corruption drive
