REFINING: Pemex Refinery Runs Fell Again in October

The seven Pemex refineries operated at a one-year low in October amid maintenance and as the ramp up at the new Dos Bocas struggles, according to Bloomberg. 

  • Refineries runs fell to 37.2% capacity from 44.8% in September and below half capacity for the second straight month.
  • Dos Bocas refinery processing for September was revised up from zero to 18.1kb/d in September but October runs were zero.
  • Tula is running at the lowest since June 2022 at 40.2%, Salina Cruz is the lowest since Nov 2023 at 35%. Salamanca is still operating below levels seen in May prior to a leak.
  • Pemex has since restarted the Dos Bocas refinery with processing up to 35% of capacity at 120kb/d on Nov 20, according to Bloomberg sources.
