ASIA
ASIA: Regional focus will fall on flash PMI data from Japan & Australia on
Thursday.
- The Bank of Indonesia will also issue its latest MonPol decision later today,
with consensus looking for the Bank's benchmark rate to be left unchanged at
5.75% (13 of the 34 surveyed by BBG look for a 25bp cut to 5.50%).
- Elsewhere, we will hear from Fed's Kashkari (non-voter, dove) at 23:30 BST.
Wednesday saw Kashkari publish an op-ed in the FT whereby he called for FOMC
Forward Guidance to be changed `now` to commit at a minimum to not raising rates
until inflation is sustainably back to 2%. Kashkari's address is of course
bookended by the release of the minutes from the Fed's July meeting (yesterday)
and the Jackson Hole symposium, which gets underway tomorrow.
