European Energy has started construction of its 148MW Latvia solar farm, with operations due to begin by the end of 2025, it said.

  • The unit is anticipated to be one of the largest in the country.
  • Latvia has fallen behind its neighbours in PV capacity. In 2023, Estonia's solar capacity reached 822MW, Lithuania's hit 1,16GW, while Latvia's remained at just 500MW, European Energy said.
