CEE FX: Renewed EUR Strength Assists Further Gains Across CE3

Renewed dollar weakness and the associated surge in EURUSD on the back of the US data is assisting CE3 FX, with HUF leading gains across the region. HUF stands 1.2% higher against the greenback at typing, with gains for PLN and CZK at a more moderate 0.8%.

  • USDPLN looks set to end the week over 3% lower, with the pair at its lowest level since October. EURPLN, meanwhile, remains within the day’s relatively narrow range following the break below the key 4.25 region earlier in the week.
  • The Hungarian forint has built on this morning’s gains versus the dollar after USDHUF broke below support at the 50-day EMA. The pair is narrowing in on the December lows at typing as local focus turns to the NBH next week.
