Repsol Aims for Higher European Diesel Output

Repsol is attempting to increase diesel output from its refineries in Europe by de-bottlenecking its plants, Repsol CEO Josu Jon Imaz said to Reuters.

  • Europe will have to cope with high diesel prices this winter, he said.
  • The diesel crisis in Europe is heating up, with parts of Europe starting to run out of diesel, he said during the earnings call at the end October.
  • Diesel demand in Europe has been boosted by gas to diesel switch, amid high European natural gas prices.
  • Repsol operates six industrial complexes in Europe and one in Peru, with over 1mn bl/d of refining capacity, company data show.
