Risk-Off Hits SAGBs as Fed Guides Hawkishly, Curve Bear Steepens

  • SAGBs kick off weaker this morning as risk off grips markets following last nights hawkish FOMC minutes.
  • The curve trades +6.3bp bear steeper in 10-30Y yields in early trading, erasing yesterday’s bull flattening gains leading up to the meeting.
  • 30Y yields are currently retesting Monday’s highs and look set to drift towards 10.90-11.00 in line with upside inertia in UST yields.
  • W/w the SAGB curve trades marginally higher across the breadth, with duration most vulnerable in the event of further upside in UST yields.
